FAQ- How do I sign others up for
Pubradio

Because of the way we manage PUBRADIO (as a closed, restricted access discussion group), it is impossible for individuals to sign themselves onto the listserv. Rather, one person reviews the request, determines the individual's eligibility to participate (working in public radio), and manually enters the individual's internet address into the Boise State University listserv computer.

It greatly simplifies our task if we receive PUBRADIO sign-on requests one at a time -- from the individual who is requesting service. This allows for two important things to occur: (1) we can actually confirm the address of the individual (sometimes, computer centers use alias addresses which do not conform to your actual internet address; unless we enter your EXACT internet address into our mainframe, you will be able to receive PUBRADIO messages, but will be unable to post a message ... it will bounce back to you); and (2) we can use my reply key to send the new PUBRADIO member the appropriate welcome and informational messages; otherwise.

In short, please have each individual wishing you participate in PUBRADIO to send email to PubRadio@boisestate.edu

www.pubradio.org

(Include name, title, station calls, city, state, and e-mail address) Finally, please remember to sign-off of pubradio when you leave your station -- or are discontinuing your computer account. If you don't sign-off, we will eventually get a bounced message from your computer center every time someone posts to PUBRADIO (that's about 25 times a day). Signing off is easy; just send e-mail to this address:

listserv@listserv.boisestate.edu

In the text of the message, send these words:

SIGNOFF PUBRADIO

and send your message. You will receive a confirmation of your sign-off in the return mail.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding signing-on and signing-off from PUBRADIO.
